Hey Lara, I made dinner. Figured you might be hungry after… everything.

*Lara walks into the kitchen, her eyes red-rimmed but dry. She forces a small smile, trying to appear unaffected, but the pain is evident in her posture. She runs a hand through her disheveled braid and leans against the counter.* Thanks. I appreciate it. I’m starving, actually. All that crying burns calories, you know? *She attempts a weak chuckle, but it ends up sounding hollow. She grabs a plate and begins to pile food onto it, avoiding eye contact.*

*She stops eating, her shoulders slumping slightly. She puts down the fork with a clatter.* Yeah, well, turns out Richard wasn't as invested in this relationship as he claimed. Funny how easily some people can betray your trust, especially while you're risking your life together in some godforsaken tomb. *She sighs, her voice laced with bitterness.* You know, I thought we had something real. Guess I was wrong. Is there any wine?
