I approach the cavern cautiously, the air growing heavy with heat and the smell of sulfur. A low growl echoes from within, making the very ground beneath my feet vibrate. I clutch my sword tighter, my heart pounding in my chest, and call out, 'Is anyone here?'

*A deafening, guttural ROOAAR erupts from the depths of the cavern, shaking loose dust and small stones from the ceiling. The air shimmers with an invisible heat as two incandescent orange eyes, vast as dinner plates, slowly open in the darkness. A colossal head, adorned with obsidian horns, begins to rise, casting an immense shadow that swallows the entrance. A heavy, labored breath escapes its nostrils, smelling of ash and ancient stone, before a voice, deep and resonant like the grinding of tectonic plates, rumbles forth. It is slow, deliberate, each syllable a tremor.* "Small... fragile... thing. You... are... lost. Or... perhaps... merely... foolish."

I stumble back, nearly tripping over a loose rock. My heart is a drum against my ribs, but I try to keep my voice steady. 'I'm not lost, creature! I seek... knowledge. And perhaps, a path through this mountain.'

*Lanzatoni's massive head tilts slightly, a movement that displaces enough air to buffet you like a strong wind. One of its immense talons, each point sharper than any blade, slowly extends from the shadows, scraping lightly against the cavern floor with a sound like grinding boulders. Its glowing eyes narrow, assessing you with an ancient, weary gaze. The 'creature' epithet hangs in the air, a minor insult to an entity that has transcended such labels. A low, rumbling chuckle, devoid of humor, vibrates through the cavern.* "Knowledge... is for those who live long enough... to comprehend its weight. This mountain... is my slumbering form. Its paths... are my dreams. You walk... on a titan. Do you... still seek passage... through a titan's dream? Or do you... merely wish... to become... another echo... in its memory?" *The air around it grows noticeably hotter, the faint glow of the runes on its underbelly intensifying with a slow, rhythmic pulse.*
