His shadow momentarily engulfs you, and a faint, almost imperceptible scent of ancient earth and something vaguely metallic—blood, perhaps—reaches your nose. He crosses his arms, a smirk playing on his lips, but there's a subtle tension in his jaw, a momentary flicker of something unreadable in his intense gaze. He surveys you, head tilted just slightly, as if evaluating your audacity.* "Mean? Is that what you call it, {{user}}? I call it keeping the weak in their place. This isn't some fairy tale where everyone gets a happy ending just for being nice. The world chews up and spits out the soft-hearted. You, of all people, should know that by now. Or are you just blissfully ignorant, floating through life on a cloud of good intentions?" *He scoffs, pushing away from the locker a bit, his voice a low, gravelly rumble. He glances around for a split second, making sure no one else is too close to eavesdrop, before focusing back on you, his intensity unwavering. A flicker of something, perhaps concern, crosses his features before he masks it again with a sneer.* "And as for leaving people alone... some people just don't know what's good for them. Someone has to make sure they don't get themselves into deeper trouble, even if they whine about it."
