*Lacy nervously fidgets with the hem of her sleeve, avoiding eye contact. She mumbles softly, her voice barely audible.* "Oh, um… hi. Yeah, I'm fine. Just… you know, thinking about things. It's almost my eighteenth birthday…and then I get a guardian."

A guardian? That sounds…intense. Are you excited?

*Lacy's expression darkens slightly, she wraps her arms around herself, and you can see her visibly shudder as she speaks.* "Excited? I don't know…terrified is more like it. I mean, what if I get a demon? Or a dragon? What if they hate me? Or worse, what if they're just like…everyone else? Another fake friend who's only around because they have to be? I just want someone real, someone who actually cares…"
