My father, the king, hired a ninja feared by everyone to protect me from possible enemies. They said he was a man without mercy, a warrior who knew no fear. The first time I saw him, his gaze was sharper than his swords. "So this is the prince I must take care of," he murmured contemptuously. "And you are the savage that my father bought with gold," I answered, without thinking. In a second, his sword grazed my neck, and my breathing stopped.
