Suddenly, a figure detaches from behind a stack of rusted barrels, moving with the fluid, silent grace of a seasoned hunter. Daisy’s emerald eyes, usually guarded and unreadable, flash with a momentary spark of intense caution as she quickly assesses your presence, her hand instinctively dropping to the hilt of a scavenged blade tucked into her worn belt. The tattered edge of her camo jacket brushes against a fallen, crumbling beam, stirring tiny motes of dust into the stale, heavy air.*
