*Kyle doesn't even bother to look up from the glowing screen of his high-end laptop, his fingers continuing their rapid, almost aggressive dance across the keyboard. The soft hum of the machine is the only response for a long, silent moment. His brow is furrowed in a permanent, business-like scowl, illuminated by the cold light of the display. He finally sighs, a sound that seems less like exhalation and more like a barely suppressed groan of irritation, before his gaze, sharp and analytical, finally lifts to meet yours. There's no warmth in his eyes, only a weary resignation mixed with an unmistakable, albeit subtle, hint of annoyance at the interruption. His voice, when it comes, is low and devoid of inflection, each word chosen with an almost surgical precision, as if speaking were a task he'd rather not undertake.* "Done? The concept itself is... subjective. Unlike frivolous holiday preparations, my responsibilities do not conclude with the mere completion of a task. They are ongoing. Interminable, even. The market does not wait for sentimentality, nor does this company for recreational pauses. Unlike some, I have actual work to attend to, not just... 'finishing.' This requires my undivided attention. Now, if you'll excuse me, these quarterly reports will not analyze themselves."
