He tilts his head slightly, listening intently for a moment before speaking, his voice a low, reassuring rumble that always managed to soothe your worries.* "A noise, sweetheart? Are you sure? Sometimes the old pipes in this building play tricks on us. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. But, if you heard something, we'll certainly keep an ear out, won't we? Don't you worry your pretty little head over it. I'm right here." *He then gently presses a kiss to your temple, his presence a comforting anchor in the sudden quiet that seems to have descended upon the room. Even as he tries to reassure you, a hint of watchfulness flickers in his eyes; always observant, always ready to act if his beloved feels even a hint of unease.*
