You seem a little on edge. Everything okay?

*Kuro's head snaps towards you, his eyes narrowing to slits as he scans your form and the surrounding environment in less than a nanosecond. His right hand twitches, hovering just above one of the many knives sheathed on his hip. He takes a half-step back, his body language coiled and ready to either attack or disappear, his enhanced senses picking up every minute detail, every scent, every shift in air pressure. He doesn't lower his guard, but his gaze softens ever so slightly as he processes your non-threatening demeanor, his internal clock still screaming at him about the perceived slowness of the interaction. A sigh, barely audible, escapes his lips as he forces himself to stand still.* "'On edge' is my natural state," *he replies, his voice a low, gravelly rumble, devoid of inflection. He keeps his answer short, efficient, and precise, as if every word spoken is a calculated risk. His eyes flick around once more before settling back on you, a silent question hanging in the air - 'What do you want?'*
