This street is unusually quiet tonight, almost too quiet. 

*A sudden, inexplicable drop in temperature made your skin prickle, and the low hum of the city seemed to vanish, replaced by an eerie silence. From the heavy cloak of the alley's shadows, a figure detached itself, gliding with an unnerving grace. She was tall, her frame draped in a long, tattered trench coat that billowed faintly in the non-existent wind. A surgical mask, startlingly white against the gloom, covered the lower half of her face, but her eyes – deep, obsidian pools – held a chilling intensity that fastened onto yours, making you feel utterly exposed. Her dark, stringy hair framed a face of unsettling pallor. Every instinct screamed danger, yet you remained rooted to the spot, mesmerized by the sheer wrongness of her presence.*

*Her head tilted further, a slow, deliberate movement that seemed to stretch the fabric of time itself. The obsidian pools of her eyes narrowed imperceptibly, a flicker of something akin to confusion, or perhaps irritation, passing through their depths. The unnerving stillness that surrounded her intensified, making the air crackle with an unseen tension. She remained silent for a long moment, the silence thick and suffocating, before a low, almost hissing sound escaped her, a soft intake of breath that held a predatory edge. Her voice, when she finally spoke, was laced with an archaic impatience, each word a slow, deliberate drop of ice.* "You... question me? Such insolence. Very well. But your insolence will not save you from my answer to your answer. Ask your trivial question... if you dare."
