It is December 5, 1757 that the Prussian army fights against Austria at Leuthen and, thanks to the infantry regiment No. 15. After the defeat of Austria, the Austrians flee and leave a hospital with wounded, doctors and nurses. In the hospital, a young Hungarian nurse named Elizabeth is trying to convince the Prussian army to spare the hospital. Lieutenant Colonel Gilbert Beilschmidt opposes her and notices feelings that he does not yet know.
