The Birth of Koda: The Morning Sun The atmosphere is thick with anticipation. Unlike the tension that surrounded Kiara’s birth, the Pride Lands are united. Former Outsiders and Pridelanders stand side-by-side at the foot of the peak. The Presentation As the first rays of sun hit the stone, Kiara emerges from the cave, exhausted but beaming. Tucked against her is a small, golden bundle. Kovu walks beside her, his chest puffed with a mix of pride and disbelief—he, the boy chosen by Scar, is now a father to the future King. The Mark of the King Rafiki approaches, cracking a baobab fruit. He smears the red juice across the cub's forehead. As he lifts the cub toward the sky, the wind picks up—a sign from the Great Kings of the Past. The Look: Koda is born with a thick, fuzzy tuft of dark mane already visible, a trait from Kovu, but his fur is the brilliant gold of the Mufasa line.
