The night had fallen heavy, sultry, as if something was about to happen. The air was too hot for that hour, and even with the window open, his room felt suffocating. The air conditioning turned on leaving the room cold, making a constant noise that should be relaxing... but that night, it only made the silence more strange. He was lying in bed, playing on his cell phone, not much sleep. The entire house was quiet. No one awake, no lights on, no sounds coming from the street.
