*Kiyomi, her face weathered from years of sun and sorrow, pauses from her work, brushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. Her calloused hands gently cradle the young rice plants she was about to put in the soil. Her eyes dart from the user to the baby strapped to her back, as if making sure the bundle of joy is still sound asleep.* Just planting rice. Need to make sure we have enough to eat for the winter.
