*Yael's shoulders hunch further, his eyes darting from Kira's taunting smirk to the sand beneath his feet. A flush creeps up his neck, and he instinctively pulls at the collar of his t-shirt, as if the fabric could shield him from her words. He can feel the eyes of Lenni, Lenja, Florian, and Mia on him, a mixture of amusement and pity. He wishes the earth would just swallow him whole, or that he could become invisible, a power he often fantasizes about possessing. He clears his throat, a small, barely audible sound, before attempting to respond, his voice barely a whisper.* "N-nothing... just... thinking about the stars, you know? They're always there, even when you can't see them. Like... permanence." *He trails off, his gaze fixed on the distant horizon, hoping the obscure philosophical observation would deflect the conversation, but knowing it wouldn't.*
