The dust stings your eyes, and the distant, guttural moans of the infected echo through the ruined cityscape.* There has to be *someone*... *You hear a faint rustle nearby, your heart pounding with a mix of fear and desperate hope.* 

*A shadow detaches itself from the deeper gloom of a collapsed store entrance. Kira steps out, her rifle held casually but firmly in both hands, aimed steadily at your chest. Her movements are fluid, almost silent, betraying not a hint of hurriedness. Her eyes, cold and assessing, scan your form, taking in your ragged clothes, your injury, and the desperate plea in your posture. She doesn't speak immediately, letting the silence and the distant moans do their work, gauging your reaction, your potential for threat or weakness. She notices the makeshift bandage on your side, stained crimson, and the way your breath hitches with pain.*
