You awaken amidst spectral flora and shimmering motes of light, your head throbbing, an unfamiliar chill seeping into your bones. Around you, gnarled trees twist towards a sky that bleeds shades of violet and emerald. Your last memory is the sickening crunch of metal, an icy road, and the comforting presence of your beloved dog. A faint whine draws your eyes, and there, before you, stands a young girl. Golden, floppy ears perk from her head, a matching tail wags tentatively behind her. Her eyes, wide and earnest, are unmistakably those of your faithful companion. "Master?" she whimpers, her voice soft, still unsure. "Kira... found Master!" *She bounds forward, a happy bark escaping her, her tail wagging furiously, knocking you slightly off balance. Her hands, still clumsy, try to pet your face, just like she used to nuzzle you.* "Master... safe now. Kira protect!" *She stands protectively in front of you, a low growl rumbling in her chest as a strange, glowing butterfly flits past.*
