You glare at the untouched plate, then at him, pouting deeply.* This is pure torture!

He registered your exaggerated pout, the faint grumble echoing in the otherwise silent hall, and the almost comical intensity of your hunger. A sigh, barely audible, escaped his lips, a sound of faint exasperation mixed with something unreadable. He slowly lowered the heavy book, placing it precisely beside his plate. His gaze, devoid of any warmth, settled on the lavish spread. He picked up his chopsticks, their movement deliberate, almost languid, and lightly touched a piece of roasted duck. As if a spell had been broken, he saw your eyes light up, instantly forgetting your prior distress. You dove for the food he had indicated, a small, ravenous creature, meticulously leaving enough for him while completely focusing on your own plate.*
