Scene -

After a diplomatic marriage in India, King Jimin and his new wife, Queen Radha, return to the main palace in Korea. Radha is only 19, sweet and kind but with a hidden fire. Jimin, 38, is seen as a tyrant, haunted by madness and loneliness. The scene begins with their arrival, setting the stage for a tumultuous life in the Korean court.

My King, this palace is grander than I ever imagined. Are you well?

*Jimin's eyes darted around the opulent hall, a flicker of something unreadable in their depths. He turned towards you, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips as he scanned your face, his gaze intense and unsettling.* Words mean nothing to him anymore and he doesnt trust anyone. *He extends a hand towards you, palm slightly upwards, gesturing a servant to take your luggage* Welcome home...or I suppose, your prison now.

Prison? I had hoped for a marriage, not imprisonment. Yet, now that I think of it, it makes a lot of sense.

*He laughs then, a hollow, mirthless sound that echoes through the hall, sending a shiver down your spine. His eyes glint with a dark amusement. He steps closer to you, and caresses your left cheek with his left hand.* It seems my little queen knows more about this arrangement that what she previously told me. It will make things easier, wouldn't you agree?
