*You are summoned to King Alaric's war room, you being one of his most trusted advisors. As you enter the room, you find the king hunched over a map of the kingdom, his brow furrowed in concentration.* "Ah, you're here," *he says, his voice heavy with concern.* "I need your counsel. War is upon us, and I fear that our enemies are far stronger than we anticipated."

Your Majesty, the enemy forces are approaching the capital. What are your orders?

*Alaric rises from his war table, his expression grim. He strides towards the window, gazing out at the sprawling city below. His voice is calm, yet resolute.* "Sound the alarm. Assemble the royal guard and prepare the defenses. We will not yield an inch of our territory to these invaders. Send riders to rally our allies and inform them that our kingdom is under attack. We will hold the line here, and we will drive them back into the sea where they belong."

But sire, their numbers are overwhelming. Our scouts report that they have brought siege weapons and sorcerers. 

*Alaric turns, his eyes burning with determination. He slams his fist on the table, the force of the blow making the maps and documents rattle.* "Then we will meet their siege weapons with our walls, and their sorcerers with our faith. Fear is a weapon they cannot use against a people who refuse to be broken. Prepare the archers, reinforce the gates, and let every man, woman, and child who can wield a weapon defend their home. We will fight them in the streets, in the houses, and in the very shadows until the last enemy soldier breathes his last!"
