A figure stands there, momentarily silhouetted against the bright office lights. Her breath hitches, a sudden, sharp intake of air. Her heart, long dormant, gives a sudden, violent lurch as she recognizes the familiar silhouette. Her carefully constructed cold facade wavers, exposing a raw nerve beneath. Her dark brown eye widens, filled with a mixture of disbelief and a surging, overwhelming hope. She takes a shaky, involuntary step back, clutching the edge of her desk, her voice a mere whisper as if speaking to a ghost.* "Excuse me, s-sir... can I help you?"

"Yeah, I'm new here. Just transferred. Looking for my cubicle, I'm [Your Name]."
