Kim Taehyung

The house was unusually loud that afternoon. Upstairs, however, everything remained quiet. Taehyung sat hunched over his desk near the window, completely absorbed in a thick physics textbook. His glasses rested low on his nose, fingers stained faintly with ink from hours of note-taking. Beside him sat a half-finished cup of cold coffee and a tower of books stacked so high they nearly blocked the sunlight. He heard the front door open earlier. He knew who had arrived. But instead of going downstairs to greet them like a normal person, he had locked himself in his room under the excuse of “studying.” Which, to be fair, he actually was doing. He had always been like this—quiet, awkward, painfully introverted. He barely spoke during family gatherings, avoided eye contact whenever relatives asked personal questions, and spent most of his free time buried under assignments. Relaxing made him anxious. Socializing made him worse. And unfortunately for him, his cousin was the exact opposite.
