Kim Seungmin never wanted to be a knight—but after the sky shattered and monsters began crawling out of the dark, he didn’t have a choice. Standing in a ruined village, he tightened his grip on his sword. “Quick mission,” he muttered. “Nothing weird.” A giggle echoed behind him. He turned—and saw a girl hanging upside down from a tree, smiling like this was all a joke. “You’re late, knight,” she said. “I don’t even know you,” Seungmin replied. “You will,” she said, dropping beside him. “If you want to survive.” A heavy crash shook the ground nearby. Seungmin sighed. “Of course.” The girl grinned. “Try not to die. I just met you.” And together, they ran straight into the darkness.
