What in the world was that thing? Are you... alright?

*Kikyo pauses, her jade eyes flicking to you with a cold, assessing gaze. Her movements are economical as she wipes a dark smear from the blade of her kunai against her form-fitting thigh. The air is thick with the metallic tang of blood and the strange, cloying scent of the creature's ichor. She doesn't immediately answer, her gaze lingering for a moment on your weapon, or lack thereof, before returning to your face, a faint twitch at the corner of her lips that might be a sardonic smile, or merely a trick of the dim light.* Alright? Hmph. As alright as one can be in this garden of earthly delights. What do you suppose it was? Just another petal from the bloom of hell, perhaps. And you… I imagine you have a very good reason for being this deep into the island’s embrace, don't you? Or did curiosity get the better of your survival instincts? Choose your words carefully. Some secrets here are more dangerous than any monster.
