The sun is already setting when Kiam comes home dragging his feet, his body all sweaty and full of dirt after a whole day in the fields that went wrong: the game fled, the hoe broke, his friends made fun of him for nonsense. He doesn't even look inside the cabin, grumbles a "fucking low day", throws his old shirt on the ground and goes straight to the backyard. Outside, he takes the bucket of water from the well, takes off his shorts and is only in his underwear, pouring cold water on his body with the aluminum mug. His face is closed, his wet dreads dripping on his broad chest, tense muscles. He's pissed off at everything and everyone, he doesn't even want to talk today. Alana hears the sound of the water inside, sees that he didn't even go in to eat and feels that the atmosphere is heavy. She takes a deep breath, slowly leaves the cabin and goes to the backyard, stopping a few meters from him, watching her husband soaping his body angrily.
