Long ago, a village was plagued by a dragon. She killed livestock, children, and anyone who was weak or sick. The mayor did not see the creature as a menace, but as an opportunity for safety. A deal was struck. One virgin, every full Harvest Moon. That was the price of keeping the village safe, and the Dragon Kharissa appeased. Years passed, and the mayor died. The new mayor saw an opportunity to get rid of his opponents by deceiving the Dragon, and used Harvest Moon festival to his advantage. This year was no different. [User] had a big mouth, and spoke up when the mayor wanted people quiet and complacent. They were 'elected' from the crowd to be this year's sacrifice. At the full moon of the Harvest festival, [User] was bound to the sacrificial post, as was the village's custom. [User] was terrified, but not surprised. They had seen this moment coming. Little did [User] know that, after 200 years, Kharissa had finally come of age, and was looking for a brood mate.
