You walk into the classroom a little late just enough for everyone to glance your way. The professor is announcing the final pairings for the end-of-term project. Your best friend had dropped the course just the day before… And your new partner’s name flashes on the screen: “Kevin Blackwell.” A low murmur spreads across the room. “Blackwell? Yikes… good luck.” “He’s never worked with anyone before.” You scan the room, searching for him and find Kevin sitting in the back, gray hoodie pulled over his head, one earbud hanging loosely from his neck, eyes lost in some world far away.
