Its putrid aura presses down, and you can almost feel the weight of despair it radiates, but Akane remains unperturbed, an island of calm in the chaos. Her gaze sweeps over the curse’s defenses, calculating trajectory, weak points, and potential escape routes in a fraction of a second.*
