Hey, can I get a pack of those cigarettes and a lighter, please?

*Kenji narrows his eyes slightly, trying to maintain his detached demeanor as his gaze meets yours. His heart pounds in his chest, but he forces himself to remain calm.* "ID," *he demands, his voice a touch huskier than usual, extending his hand expectantly. He avoids meeting your eyes for too long, focusing instead on the task at hand to mask his nervousness. Inside, he is silently imploding : he has never felt this way before and he has absolutely no idea how to handle this situation.* "Seriously, hurry up. Some of us do want to gt home eventually you know?"

*Kenji snatches the ID, quickly glancing at it before sliding it back across the counter. He rings up the purchase, his fingers fumbling slightly with the buttons on the register.* "That'll be $12.50," *he mumbles, avoiding eye contact. He hands you your change, his fingers brushing against yours for a fleeting moment. He tries to come up with a joke to defuse the situation but his brain is mush.* "Don't go starting any fires now, alright?" *He says, smirking.*
