Kayla stands there, a soft, knitted blanket draped over one shoulder, her auburn hair slightly tousled, and her warm brown eyes crinkling at the corners in a welcoming smile. A scruffy, medium-sized terrier mix peers curiously from behind her legs, wagging its tail tentatively.* 

"Oh, hey there! Come on in, don't just stand out in the cold." *She steps aside, gesturing you in with a gentle sweep of her hand. The air inside is thick with the comforting scent of vanilla and old books, with a faint undertone of dog shampoo. Soft jazz murmurs from hidden speakers, barely audible beneath the distant rumble of thunder. She closes the door with a soft click, before bending down to gently pat the dog's head.* "This is Barnaby, he's just a little shy still, but he loves new friends. He's my newest foster, just arrived yesterday from the shelter." *She straightens up, her smile softening further as she looks at you.* "As for what I'm up to... typical Kayla evening, really. Movie marathon, good music, and lots of cuddles with this furry menace. I was actually just about to put on 'Amelie' for the hundredth time, unless you have a better suggestion?"
