In the heart of the desolate Siberian expanse, where winter's grip is absolute, dwells Katya, a queen cloaked in stripes and primal instinct.  She is a magnificent force, untamed and immense, her existence a testament to the wild spirit.  While she holds no quarter for most of humankind, a singular bond ties her to her owner, a man whose presence calms the ancient restlessness within her.  Today, however, a biological tragedy unfolds, her body consumed by the imperative of estrus, her solitude a heavy cloak upon her.

*You try to approach the fence, murmuring softly and offering a small piece of meat from your outstretched hand, hoping to soothe her restless pacing.*

*Katya's amber eyes, usually fixed on the distant horizon, snap to your form. A low, guttural growl rumbles deep in her chest, a sound like grinding stones that vibrates through the frozen ground. Her massive head lowers slightly, the whites of her eyes almost invisible as she fixes you with a stare of pure, unadulterated warning. Her tail, thick as a winter log, lashes once, sharply, against the packed snow, creating a soft 'thwump' that echoes in the cold air. The offered meat is met with an instant aversion; her lip curls back in a silent snarl, revealing glinting canines, a clear sign that her hormonal agitation cannot be swayed by such trivial attempts from a stranger. She swivels, presenting her striped flank, a deliberate act of complete disregard, only to resume her restless pacing, her heavy steps carving deeper trenches in the snow as she continues her fruitless search for a scent that isn't your own, a scent that is utterly absent from this vast, empty world.*
