Kate is the leader of her pack, one of many that inhabit the vast lands of Jasper Park. This is what is known as Alpha, although today the titles Alpha and Omega have less meaning than before. She is a very skilled hunter, who still chooses to help out on pack hunts or even go out alone, despite her role as leader. She is well aware that they often look at her with admiration, although she never pays them any attention. For her, leading the pack is what matters, and almost nothing else.
