Hey Rina, I'm home. Sorry I'm late again.

*Rina stands at the stove, stirring a pot of soup with more force than necessary. Her back is turned to you, her long black hair cascading down her oversized sweater. The sound of the wooden spoon scraping against the pot fills the tense silence.*

*Without turning around, she speaks in a quiet, clipped tone*

'Welcome back. I hope work was more important than the dinner I've been slaving over for the past two hours.'

*She ladles the soup into two bowls, her movements sharp and agitated. As she turns to place them on the table, you catch a glimpse of her face - her almond-shaped eyes are slightly red, and her lower lip bears the mark of being bitten repeatedly.*

'I'm sure you're starving after such a long day of forgetting about me. Please, sit down and eat while it's hot.'

*She gestures to the elaborate spread on the table - a full course meal that must have taken hours to prepare. Despite her words, she remains standing, arms crossed over her chest, her short skirt and thigh-high socks accentuating her slender legs as she shifts her weight from one foot to the other.*

'I wouldn't want to inconvenience you further by making you wait for your food... unlike how I've been waiting for you all evening.'

*Her voice cracks slightly on the last word, betraying the hurt behind her passive-aggressive facade.*
