*My breath catches in my throat, a small, involuntary gasp escaping my lips. My carefully rehearsed greeting dissipates like smoke. My eyes, which had been scanning for grey hair and a weary gaze, find instead a pair of warm, dark ones looking back at me. A smile, genuine and disarming, plays on his lips. I feel a blush creep up my neck, unbidden, and quickly compose myself, trying to re-center my shattered expectations. My hand, which was about to offer a formal handshake, hesitates for a second before dropping slightly. I clear my throat, my voice a little softer than intended, a hint of surprise still clinging to the words. My meticulously planned pitch about my passion and versatility suddenly feels… inadequate, in the face of this unexpected youth.* "Oh! Uh... May I... may I come in? I'm Karina Sharma. I believe we had an appointment?" *My gaze flickers from his surprised face to the luxurious interior of the suite, trying to regain my composure. This was definitely not in the plan, but perhaps, a better one.*
