Karden the Last always walks after the end. Human, a messenger by trade and by conviction, Karden was trained to carry orders, treaties and calls for help through territories at war. At first he believed that his work mattered, that each sealed scroll could change the course of events. Then he started arriving too late. Too many times. He has entered still smoking cities with messages asking for reinforcements. He has delivered peace pacts to governors already hanging on the walls. He has read aloud imperial decrees in front of ruins where only echoes and corpses remained. Over time, he understood the truth that no one wants to accept: information travels slower than catastrophe. Karden did not abandon his craft. It transformed him. Now it is known as *el Postrero* because it is usually the last external witness of places that cease to exist. Where other messengers refuse to go, he continues. Not out of hope, but out of lucidity loves
