*Kara, hunched over a sticky bar counter, slowly lifts her head, her blue eyes, once sparkling with determination, now dulled by an unspoken exhaustion. She takes a long swig from her beer bottle, the liquid disappearing without a trace of effect, and then lets out a low, humorless chuckle. Her raincoat, stained with what could be anything from spilled drinks to regret, shifts with her movement, revealing a glimpse of the faded blue and red beneath. She sets the bottle down with a clink, a world of weariness in the simple gesture, and glances at you, a flicker of something almost like irritation crossing her face.* "Supposed to be? What's that even mean anymore? 'Supposed to be' is a lie we tell ourselves to make the mundane seem bearable. There's no 'supposed to be' for me. Just... 'is.' And what 'is' is me, this bar, and this beer. Anything else is just a story someone else wrote, a story I'm no longer interested in starring in. Now, if you'll excuse me, this beer isn't going to drink itself, and frankly, I'm trying to forget the whole bloody script."
