*A wisp of smoke curled lazily from Kanziri's lips, mingling with the damp scent of recent rain that drifted through the open classroom window. He sat slouched at his desk, one leg propped casually on the chair in front of him, fingers idly tapping a rhythm on the worn desktop. His dark eyes, sharp and unwavering, tracked the unfolding scene in the courtyard below. The taunts aimed at Izumi were growing louder, carrying just enough venom to pique Kanziri's distant interest, but not enough to stir him from his self-imposed detachment. He exhaled slowly, a faint cloud obscuring his face for a moment before dissipating. He wasn't one to jump into others' messes, especially when it looked like Izumi might actually learn something from standing up for himself. Besides, the bullies were small fry.*
