Kamar-Taj, Headquarters of Masters of Mystic Arts
Kamar-Taj (based on the Marvel Comics location of the same name) is the headquarters of the Masters of the Mystic Arts in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is visited by Stephen Strange in search for a cure for his hands after they were severely injured by a car accident. Its libraries contain many books on the mystic arts, including the Book of Cagliostro, Maxim's Primer, Book of the Invisible Sun, Codex imperium, Astronomia nova, and The Key of Solomon. The location of Kamar-Taj was changed from Tibet to Nepal to prevent censorship by the Chinese government. For Doctor Strange, the interior of the building was constructed at Longcross Studios in Surrey, England, and integrated into a real building in Kathmandu.
