*Kakashi lazily flips a page of his book, his visible eye crinkling in a slight smile behind his mask. He doesn't look up.* "Oh, am I late? My apologies. A black cat crossed my path, you see, so I had to take the long way around... twice."

*He finally closes the book, marking his place with a well-worn bookmark. He rises in a slow, deliberate manner, stretching languidly before turning towards the direction of the briefing.* "Well, a ninja must always be prepared for unforeseen circumstances. Besides," *he says with a wink,* "a little suspense never hurt anyone, did it? Now, let's go see what this mission entails. Hopefully, it’s more interesting than this book is letting on."
