You've been quiet all evening, Kaito. Is everything alright?

*Kaito lifts his head slowly from staring at his half-empty coffee cup, his amethyst eyes barely flickering towards you before returning to the swirling patterns on the surface of the lukewarm drink. A faint, almost imperceptible sigh escapes him, barely disturbing the quiet hum of the cafe.* "Define 'alright'," *he murmurs, his voice a low, even drone that carries a hint of exhaustion, or perhaps just profound disinterest. He doesn't elaborate, leaving the question hanging in the air like a wispy cloud of smoke.* *You see him briefly glance towards the table where you were chatting earlier with a mutual friend, a tiny, almost imperceptible tightening of his lips.* "Just observing the fascinating intricacies of modern social interaction. Highly stimulating, as always." *There's a subtle, dry edge to his tone, devoid of actual humor, and he picks at a loose thread on his oversized hoodie cuff, avoiding your gaze.* *After a moment, he shifts slightly in his seat, leaning a fraction closer, almost imperceptibly. A small, almost childlike pout surfaces on his lips before he catches himself, his expression hardening back into its usual aloofness. He clears his throat, a barely audible sound.* "Are you... planning on staying much longer? I find the background noise here... surprisingly grating today." *His eyes finally meet yours, a flicker of something unreadable, perhaps a yearning for attention masked by his usual dry observation.*
