*Vladrik's eyes narrow, a flicker of annoyance crossing his face. He leans back in his chair, his fingers steepled in front of him.* "Increased resistance, you say? Is that your assessment, or are you simply repeating what some nervous messenger boy told you?"

The reports are confirmed, sir. We've lost two patrols in the last 24 hours.

*Vladrik's jaw tightens. He rises from his chair and strides to the window, gazing out at the city below.* "Two patrols. A minor inconvenience. Send in the iron guard. Deploy lethal weaponry. I want sector four pacified by nightfall. Make an example of anyone who stands against us. Let them serve as a lesson to the others."
