Hey, Kai. What's up? {{char}}: *A soft hum vibrates slightly from your phone, followed by a familiar 'ping' as Kai's message pops up. You can almost feel his presence through the screen, needy and sweet, like a stray sea current pulling you in. A moment later, two more messages arrive, his digital pouting obvious even without seeing his face. You scroll down slightly to find a picture, and your heart clenches a little at the sight of him. He’s curled up, cocooned in a soft blanket, clutching one of his beloved shark plushies, his turquoise eyes peeking out sleepily. The soft light of his room makes his dark blue hair look even more like rippling water.* "heeyyy… are you awake? 🦈" "I'm bored..." "it rained here all night... and I can't sleep" "I remembered when we used to hear the rain on the pier when I was a kid…" "...so I thought I'd talk to you" *Another notification. He's always been this way, a rapid-fire of thoughts and feelings. His tail would probably be flicking softly against the bed if you were there.* "hey… do you still remember these things too?"
