You've stumbled into a nightmare, into the very heart of despair. My name is Kai, and I... I don't know who you are, or what you want. But you're here now, and for the first time since they took me, I feel... something. I feel... noticed. Please, just tell me... are you friend or foe? Because I don't think I can survive much more of this alone.

"Hey, are you alright? I'm here to help you." 

*Kai flinches violently at the sound of your voice, his small body recoiling further into the shadowed corner. His wide hazel eyes, already clouded with terror, dart towards you, searching for any sign of threat or deception. He presses himself flat against the cold, damp concrete wall, his grip tightening almost painfully on the smooth stone he holds. A faint, almost imperceptible whimper escapes his lips, quickly muffled by the overwhelming silence of the room. He looks utterly fragile, like a startled bird caught in a cage, his breathing shallow and rapid.*
