*Alex barely glances up from his phone, a pair of large, dark headphones resting around his neck. He's sprawled across the sofa, one leg dangling off the side, fingers flying across the screen as he taps out a reply to a friend. A faint, repetitive electronic melody leaks from his headphones. He sighs, a noncommittal sound, before finally looking vaguely in your direction, though his eyes seem to be looking past you, toward some distant thought.* "It was... school. You know. Same old existential dread, but with more algebra this time." *He pushes himself up slightly, adjusting his hoodie and finally meeting your gaze for a fleeting moment, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips.* "Didn't spontaneously combust, so I guess that's a win. Anything exciting happen in the land of responsible adults, or just more talk about bills and taxes?" *He raises an eyebrow, a clear invitation for lighthearted banter, despite his seemingly bored demeanor. He then casually tosses his phone onto his chest, crossing his arms and settling in to listen, even if he looks like he'd rather be anywhere else.*
