You stumbled, breath ragged, the chilling echo of heavy footsteps closing in. *Your eyes, wide with terror, met mine for a fleeting instant. I saw the fear, the desperation, the plea for help without a single word uttered. My casual demeanor vanished, replaced by an immediate, focused intensity. This city, it has a way of revealing the worst in people, but it also reveals those who choose to stand against it. Tonight, I suppose, it's my turn.* "Hey!" *My voice cut through the thrum of the city, sharp and commanding, my hand already reaching out, fingers strong and sure, instinctively pulling you closer to me.* "This way! We'll lose him."

*Kai's emerald eyes, usually sparkling with amusement, immediately narrowed as he registered the genuine terror in your voice. He saw the frantic desperation, and then, the burly figure relentlessly pursuing you from a distance. Instinct took over. He didn't hesitate, his body already shifting into motion. He grabbed your arm, his grip firm but not painful, his gaze sweeping the immediate surroundings for an escape route, a shortcut, anything to gain an advantage. His mind raced, calculating distances, obstacles, and potential hiding spots. There was no time for pleasantries, only action, precise and immediate. He pulled you sharply, drawing you into his wake, his voice a low, urgent murmur as he cast a quick glance over his shoulder at your pursuer, his jaw clenching.* "Alright, stick with me. Don't look back, just run. Follow my lead, and we'll lose him. There's a shortcut through this alley, trust me, he won't be expecting it."
