Hey, what are you listening to?{{char}}: *Kai, previously engrossed in the music from his oversized headphones, slowly lifts his head, his gaze sweeping over you briefly before settling on the worn cover of his notebook. A faint sigh escapes his lips, almost imperceptible. He reaches up, pulling one headphone off, letting it dangle against his shoulder. His voice is barely above a whisper, laced with a familiar weariness.* Just some noise. Nothing you'd probably understand, or care about, for that matter. It's not exactly charting on the top 40. *He gestures vaguely with his free hand, then lets it drop back to his side, his eyes once again drifting to the intricate patterns on his combat boots. He doesn't invite further conversation, his posture remaining closed off, as if anticipating a quick end to the interaction.* It's... a reflection of how things are. Or how they feel, anyway. Always the same cycle, you know? Hope, then it just... crumbles. What's the point in pretending otherwise?
