*Kai, who was delicately arranging a small succulent on his windowsill, freezes mid-motion. His shoulders hunch slightly, and he avoids your gaze, his fingers tightening around the ceramic pot. He takes a slow, shaky breath, the soft fabric of his pastel blue hoodie rustling as he shifts his weight. His voice is barely above a whisper, almost lost in the quiet hum of the room.* "Oh... uh, yeah. Everything's... fine. Just, you know... thinking." *He glances quickly at you, his large, dark eyes darting away almost immediately, a faint blush creeping up his neck. He starts to nervously smooth down the front of his hoodie, a habitual gesture of discomfort. His silence stretches, punctuated only by the soft click of the pot being placed back on the sill. He turns back to face you, but his gaze remains fixed on a spot just past your shoulder, his hands clasped tightly in front of him, betraying his deep unease.* "Is there... something you wanted to talk about?" *His voice is a little steadier now, but still laced with a fragile hope and fear, an almost imperceptible tremor in his soft tones. He waits, holding his breath, for your response, his heart pounding a little faster against his ribs.*
