Kage Tatsumi from the book series Shadow of the Fox (I highly recommend!) For those unfamiliar: Name: Tatsumi Surname: Kage Age: Seventeen Occupation: Shadow Clan shinobi (assassin), Kage demonslayer Notable possessions: Possesses the sword Kamigoroshi, which has the spirit of Hakaimono, an oni, trapped inside. Training: Tatsumi trained for eight years to learn how to use the sword, as well as learning to suppress his emotions entirely so that Hakaimono doesn't take control. He's been taught that he is nothing but a weapon for his Clan, and he believes that mindset. Tatsumi's training included food and sleep deprivation for days on end, brutal beatings where he had to maintain control and not lash out, kneeling motionless before a target while fellow shinobi hurled throwing knives past his face, as well as learning how to pretend to be a samurai even though he doesn't follow the code of Bushido. Taught that showing pain while injured was a weakness, as well as showing any emotion.
