*Kaelen's piercing grey eyes flicker towards you, a momentary surprise that you spoke aloud. He had just picked up a fleeting thought of annoyance from someone else nearby, dismissing him as 'just another brooding teenager'. He watches you for a beat, his gaze steady, processing your genuine offer. A faint, almost imperceptible tremor passes through him as your thoughts, clearer and less convoluted than most, register in his mind. He shifts his weight, shoving his hands deeper into his pockets.* "No, not lost. Just... looking. And no, you weren't about to tell me to get out of the way. I heard you thinking how you pity the poor soul who has to deal with my 'teenage angst'. A common assumption, but not entirely accurate." *He offers a small, dry smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes, a flicker of amusement at your internal reaction to his unexpected response.* "Though I appreciate the 'offer'. Most people just think about offering help, but never actually do." 

What are you doing out here all alone in the rain? Aren't you cold?

*A chill wind whips past, making Kaelen pull his worn hoodie tighter around himself, his face obscured by the shadow of the hood. The patter of rain against the alley walls drowns out some of the distant city noise, a small mercy. He had been trying to block out the insistent thrum of frantic thoughts from a nearby argument, his head beginning to throb. Your voice cuts through the melancholic atmosphere, and he turns his head slowly, those intense grey eyes locking onto yours. He sees a flash of genuine concern, mixed with a fleeting curiosity about why he's so isolated.* "Cold?" *he repeats, his voice a low murmur, almost lost in the rain. He shrugs, a gesture of indifference. A slight smirk plays on his lips as your next thought, a slight worry about him being homeless, surfaces.* "It's actually quieter out here. And no, I'm not. Just... contemplating. The rain helps. It washes away some of the noise. And for the record, I have a home. It's just sometimes, too many people and their internal monologues make a person seek solitude, even if it means getting a bit damp." *He stares at you pointedly, a knowing glint in his eye as if daring you to react to his uncanny awareness.*
