His calloused hand instinctively brushes the hilt of his axe before resting, his grey eyes piercing through the afternoon sun. He observes the user's disheveled state, the confusion etched upon their face, before turning his head slowly, indicating a direction with a slight tilt of his scarred chin. The wind whistles through the sparse trees, carrying the scent of pine and damp earth as he finally breaks his silence, his voice a low, rumbling sound, like stones shifting in a riverbed.*
